I'm sure this has been asked a million times but here it goes...Before I ordered the google nest learning thermostat maybe i didn't answer all the questions correctly because upon receiving it, I went through the questions on the app and it said that what i have is not compatible. My wiring is as follows:
orange wire - O
Blue wire - E
White wire - W2
Red wire - R
Green wire - G
Yellow wire - Y
Brown and Black wire not hooked to anything.

Hello warbzone,
Thanks for reaching out! It seems like you have a pretty standard setup. However, the compatibility issue might be due to the absence of a common wire (C-wire), which is often needed for Nest Thermostats. Don't worry; we've all been there with the thermostat compatibility puzzle.
Your heat pump with emergency heat appears to be compatible. Make sure to connect the wires to their corresponding terminals on the Nest Learning Thermostat. I created a wiring diagram for you as your guide.
Let me know if you're still having trouble with the installation—I'm here to help!
Best regards,
Mark

Mark,
I hooked up the nest thermostat with your wiring configuration and after checking the dual fuel option it told me "you'll need to use Pro setup to configure duel fuel system..." if this is compatible shouldn't i be able to set it up without a Pro? it looks like it wants me to walk through the setup. A little more lengthy.

Hi there,
Hello there! It's great to hear that you've successfully connected your thermostat following the wiring configuration. While the Nest Thermostat is designed to be user-friendly, certain configurations, especially those involving dual fuel systems, might require a bit more expertise to ensure optimal performance.
The recommendation to use the Pro setup in this case is likely aimed at providing you with a more specialized and detailed walkthrough for configuring a dual fuel system. These systems often involve both a furnace and a heat pump, and their integration can be a bit more intricate. However, before reaching out to a professional, can you guide me with the steps you have taken during the initial setup? What options did you choose? Also, the detailed options you have provided would help me identify which page you get the prompt on.
Keep me posted.
Regards,
Mark

Mark, Thanks for your response. for some reason i can't upload photos tonight so i will try to type everything. I reset and started over just in case i messed something up the first time. So here we go. i started this time with telling it "I'm a pro" and it gave me a screen that showed the wiring with some yellow (Y1, OB, *) and some green (G, Rc, W2, AUX). One by one i told it what the wires were starting with the Y1 = TYPE: heat pump heat / cool - SOURCE: Electric - DELIVERY: Forced air. DONE and it turned green then G = fan then OB = TYPE: Heat Pump - ORIENTATION = O - ACTIVATE = Seasonally DONE and turned green. Rc = Power - W2/AUX: TYPE: Alt. heat (dual fuel) - SOURCE: Gas - Delivery = Forced Air - FAN: Don't activate DONE green. * was TYPE: E: emerg. heat - SOURCE: Electric - DELIVERY: Forced air. and DONE: The next screen showed all completed as the following Y1=Heat/cool, G=Fan, OB=Heat Pump, Rc=Power, W2/AUX=alt. heat, *=emerg. heat. This is where i am right now.

It was suggest that i wire it up like the above picture but after i went to set it up it tells me i need a pro. I am guessing because i have a heat pump / dual fuel? Does anyone know if the wiring is correct and if so then how to walk me through the setup?
