Nest Learning Thermostat one braided T wire issue

So, I have 6 wire hard wires in my Tstat wire however, there is 1 stranded wire from the Condenser I believe.  NEST won't power up.  Do I really need to run a new wire?  I tried splicing in a hard wire to no avail
