Apologies for not replying sooner.
Unfortunately the article linked does not answer my specific question.
Does anyone here run the 2 types of Nest thermostat on the same system ?

Hi Yippity,
I wanted to stop by and see how I could help.
Thanks for assisting, Emerson.
If this is a zoned type of system. Yes, you should be able to control heating if multiple Nest Thermostats, even in different versions, are installed. You might need to have a C-wire or a Nest Power Connector installed in order to deliver constant power to thermostats. Please take a look at this article and let us know if you need more help.
Regards,
Mark
