@Lance01, in addition to what was shared above, you don't necessarily need to use the Google Home App to install a new Nest Learning Thermostat. While the app offers additional features and remote control capabilities, you can still manually operate the thermostat without using the app.
During the initial setup, you can follow the manual installation instructions provided with the thermostat. This typically involves connecting the thermostat to your HVAC system and configuring basic settings directly on the Nest app, which is the main app for the Nest Thermostat version you have.
Once installed, you can use the thermostat manually by adjusting the temperature settings directly on the device itself. You won't be able to access some of the smart features without the app, but if you prefer simplicity and don't need the extra bells and whistles, manual operation should be sufficient for your needs.
