I have 2 3rd generation thermostats that recently stopped charging. I was told I needed a power connector, and G sent me one. However, the local Pro refused to install, saying my local HVAC tech should. Anyway, I have a zone controller, with 3 wires (Y, R, G) going to each thermostat. This works for cooling, and I also have two wires (W, Rh) at each thermostat for the furnace and heat. I'm concerned about two different control circuits. If I install a power connector for each thermostat at the zone controller, will that power the thermostats, solve my problems without adversely impacting the heating controls? Thank. THis has been a learning experience!!!

Sorry about the Nest Pro. If you hired them through OnTech then file a complaint.
Do you have separate heating and cooling systems?
Who is the zone controller manufacturer and model number?
Can you post pictures showing the thermostats and zone controller wiring?
You will need two Nest Power Connectors and they will get mounted at the zone controller. You might also need an external 24vac transformer.

Hi. OnTech told me to hire a local HVAC tech. I was afraid that they would be busy starting up cooling systems, and I didn't think they would have the proper technical background. Through a lot of digging, I figured it out. I do have a separate heating system and cooling system. The zone controller works mainly with the AC to direct air to 2 zones. I bought a second Power Connector and installed them at the zone controller. Then I had to reset the thermostats and reprogram them. Everything seems to be working fine now. zone controller
