I have a Nest Gen 3 Learning thermostat and I'm trying to limit the low and high temperature range. This is for a rental and I don't want tenants lowering or raising it outside of the limits I set. All of the info I found says I should be able to add a lock pin and a range slider should appear to set the upper and lower limits.
When I add a pin, it just goes back to the Settings menus. Please don't tell me this is no longer supported...

On either the Nest display or the Nest app you can set a lock pin and when you do this, it will go to a third screen where you can set the temperature range that you want them to be able to do so when the best display is locked it will limit the high and low temperatures you set.
Settings:Lock:
on the Nest App Settings Gear (upper right) then choose your thermostat, next choose Lock, enter PIN twice, next set temperature range.

The 3 rd screen you refer to is not being displayed.

Unfortunately your solution does not work. The sliders never appear. I added and removed the pin a few times, each time, it going back to the settings menu.
What fixed it was removing and re-adding the thermostat from the Nest app. Once I did this, the thermostat and my phone app look slightly different. Once I added the pin, the slider range appeared and I was able to set a range.

Here are the screenshots off the Nest App on my iPhone
1. Select your thermostat
2. Select the settings gear
3. Choose Lock, enter lock PIN twice.
4. This screen should appear, adjust the sliders, tap LOCK at the bottom.
