Nest Thermo E 74 No Power Error

Kexpose
Community Member

Hello,

I turned on my heat for the first time this winter and all was well except in the middle of the night I have received a connectivity error and saying the RH does not have any power. See screenshot attached. It keeps saying it’s a power issue. I try to disconnect and recconect that wire, I turn the electrical breaker off and on and seems like nothing is working. At one point, it reset itself and everything seemed fine but then moment later it went back to the error. Please let me know how this can be fixed.

Hi Kexpose,

Thanks for bringing this up here in the Google Nest community. We're sorry for any trouble this may have caused you. Let’s check this out. What type of Nest Thermostat do you have?

We'll need to check the power reading of the Nest Thermostat. Please follow the steps below:

For the Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Thermostat E:

  1. Press the thermostat ring to bring up the Quick View menu.
  2. Turn the ring to Settings and press to select.
  3. Turn the ring to Technical Info and press to select.

For the Nest Thermostat 2020:

  1. Tap the touch bar to bring up the Menu view.
  2. Slide your finger down to Settings, then tap to select.
  3. Slide your finger to Equipment > Power Info.

Also, if I may ask, do you have a multimeter?

I look forward to your response.

Best,

Renz

Hello Renz,

Sorry for my delay, as I was out of town for the holidays. I have a Nesting Learning thermostat 3rd generation. Also, I own a single condo, so I do not believe it is a multimeter. The power reading is saying the below:

Battery: 3.654V

Voc: 0.04 V

Vin: 0.04 V

lin: 8mA (o)

Looking forward to your response.

Hello Kexpose,

Thanks for the update. It appears that there’s no voltage coming out of your HVAC. The minimum requirement for the system to run is at least 29 to 42 volts on the VOC and VIN and 20 to 40 mA on the LIN. You can contact a local technician to look into your heating system, or you can also contact Nest Pro.

Let me know if you have other questions.

Regards,

Renz
