After years of no problems, I awoke to one of my nest thermostats disconnected from Wi-Fi. It will not reconnect, even after following all the troubleshooting recommendations and resetting my router. I then reset the device and of course am completely unable to reconnect it to my account. It will not connect to any assisting device, even though I have several in my house, which is a separate, ongoing issue that popped up ever since upgrading to Nest Wifi from Google Wifi.
please advise on next steps.

I has the same exact problem. I was connected then oneway I woke up to a message saying it is offline. I guess it tries to keep on pinging the new Google Server. I reset the network, did not work, I reset the thermostat gen2 again did not work, the support person had access to the same problem solving checklist that Google has...nothing more...if they cannot resolve the connection and if you are under warranty they will simply send you replacement which again is not guaranteed to work...the Thermostat is not at fault, in my case, as it works fine offline..fingers crossed ...so far....am frustrated as I had spent hours on the phone speaking to the Technician from Honduras.
You are not alone...this happened after migrated from the Nest to Google....it is probably the google server that is causing issues...my internet works fine including my other Wifi devices...let's hope Google fixes this issue soon...

Thank you chicktas for letting me know about your experience! Yes, hoping something can be done to fix these connectivity issues. Makes me worry about buying another nest device of any kind as I’m not sure it will connect to my overall system.

I will ry later when it gets warmer in Canada to connect to the internet...right now it is definitely not reliable...in most cases it fails and it succeeded once but then the next morning when I checked to see if it was still connected, it was not....so it keeps on trying...I tried everything all over again and reset it but no go so while we are in winter season, I will just use the nest as a manual thermostat unfortunately...in Spring I may try again..thnx for listening...but I am not the only one having connection issues...cheers

Hi Jake:
My nest internet now works fine , as I managed to connect my wifi using the 2.4 GHz instead of my default 5 Ghz. now works fine...this morning I heard a chime then it went away..not sure what that meant..Do you perhaps have any clue as to why it chimed? it is a 3 rd gen nest thermostat

Hi there,
Chiming in — I'm glad that the issue is now fixed. Did you still hear that sound from your Nest Thermostat, after you first heard it?
