Nest Thermostat E does not connect to Nest app due to entry key error

The app asks for either the QR code (at the back of the thermostat) or an entry key which can be obtained via the thermostats settings.

>> Taking the QR code option, the app still prompts you to add an entry key

>> On the app, a hyphen cannot be added and all entry keys contain a hyphen

>> In the browser, a hyphen can be added but it limits to 7 characters whereas code contains 8

Hi ISH0415,

Thanks for reaching out to us, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation.

Have you tried to enter the Entry Keys on the app without hyphens? If not, please try to do it and let me know of that works.

Best,

Zoe

Just one final check in here since activity has slowed down. We'll be locking the thread in the next 24 hours, but if you still need help, I would be happy to keep it open. If there's more we can do, just let me know.
