Not charging

My next stopped being charged, it is currently on a USB cable to do so b/c I have no heat.Is this a normal thing? If the HVAC system can't keep the thermostat charged, it is just a rock on the wall. Please advise!

Nest app does not connect to replacement gen 3 thermostat

First replacement connected to app no problem. Second one will not connect to app. Have followed all the steps to reset, log on and off network but nothing works. Do not see info in this forum to address. Please advise
