Nest Thermostat Fan Keeps Running Won't Turn Off

September 2023 - I've had the Nest Thermostat for a few years now, it has always worked perfectly. I upgraded to a new Eero 6 mesh wifi system about 2 months ago, (dual band), updated the wi-fi network and passwords with all of my Nest products. The Nest Thermostat continued to work great, without any issues. We had a storm & power outage a couple of weeks ago, which lasted about 2 hours. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the thermostat not turning off now, but I just noticed that the fan has been running constantly for at least a week. I turned the a/c and heat to off. Turned the fan to off. I did see several others asking about this, but have found no solution in any of those answers. Halp!

Hi JazzyMeow23,

Thanks for reaching out to us, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation. If so, a few questions: are you located in North America or Europe? What type of Nest Thermostat do you have? And have you tried any troubleshooting steps? If yes, would you mind listing them?

To isolate the situation, whether this is caused by your thermostat or your system, remove the thermostat display from the base and wait about five minutes, then observe if the system stays on or turns off. Also, gather the power readings of your thermostat's Battery, VOC, VIN, and lIN in its Settings > Technical Info > Power if you have the Nest Learning Thermostat or the Nest Thermostat E. Go to Settings > Equipment > Power Info and list down its VIN, IIN, and PS-* if you have the Nest Thermostat 2020.

Keep us posted. We're happy to help.

Best,

Zoe

I'm in North America, have the regular nest thermostat not learning, and I took it off for over 10 minutes and it kept running. I have to use the breaker to make it stop. I'm in Florida and it's really necessary, IDK what to do!

Ac tech came and it's still won't shut off after the compressor stops, he cleared some water by the switch but that didn't do it
