Hello everyone, I have been having issues with the Nest Thermostat going Offline at the most in-opportune times. The thermostat shows connected on the device, but shows up as offline in the app. Today I connected a network cable to my laptop and surfed into the webpage of my Gateway (AT&T Fiber), once inside the gateway, I went to the Device List tab and found the IP address (IPv4) for the thermostat; then I went to the Diagnostic tab and tried to ping that address it did not work. I left the diagnostic tab and went to the Device tab, on the Device tab there is a link to the Smart Home Manager, (I clicked on it) after logging into my account, I scrolled down to the bottom of the Smart Home Manager and reset the Gateway. The nest came back online. I have to manually reset my device several times a week and this defeats the purpose of having it. Since there is not a diagnostic page for the thermostat, I may have to setup a remote access for the Gateway to control the thermostat. I hope that you do not have as many issues as I have with this combination (Google Home and AT&T). The problem may be with the gateway, or it may be with the thermostat I will keep a log and update you with my struggles.

Update, AT&T sent me a new Gateway; the thermostat worked for less than 24 hours before I had to restart the gateway. I ping my network several times a day and my average ping time is over 500ms. Some are over 3,000ms. After doing research I learned that the average ping should be 100ms or less. My next step is to get another brand of Wi-Fi device and test it. When you get a chance, run a ping test on your network to determine if you have a High Ping Rate (above 100ms). I will update this again after I get the new gateway.
