Nest Thermostat Wiring question

Hello, I am trying to replace an older Nest learning thermostat (wifi died) with a new Nest Model #G4CVZ.

But the new model does not have the same number of wire blocks? What wire goes where?

You have 2 stages of Heat and 2 stages of cooling so you need the Nest Learning Thermostat.

Or if you dont care about the 2 stages you could put the 2 W in the same W terminal and the 2 Y in the Y terminal.

If you do this way you do not have the switching from low stage to high stage anymore it will run full power cooling and full power heating.

Thank You for the response! in your expert opinion what are the benefits i would lose by not having the 2 stages?

It is less efficient and runs full power heating and cooling when it kicks on.

The stages are designed to run at lower power in mild conditions when you don't need 2nd stage and if it senses the house is too hot or cold it brings on the 2nd stage.

Its supposed to be more comfortable with 2 stages.

Only the Nest Learning model has the extra terminals to do 2 stages of both heat and cooling.
