Nest Thermostat heating when in cooling mode

NestfFireSoon

Went from Honeywell to Nest after checking compatibility.  Installed Nest and when it’s calling for cooling, heat is blowing out. When it’s in heat mode, I also have heat.  I have not checked the inside unit wiring but intend to.  With the C wire hooked up and checking voltage, I have 38volts according to Nest test.  I have not confirmed with a meter.

Here is old Thermostat wiring

Nest Wiring is as follows:

Yellow to Y

Green to G

Red to R

Blue to C

White to W

Orange to O/B

App called for Orange to W however that was formerly W2 so I put to O/B  ( I did the App way and no dice)

It was mentioned somewhere to swap Green and Yellow and no dice

Unit was working fine prior until thermostat went bad thus the reason for the new Nest.

Thanks in advance!

Hello NestfFireSoon,

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your inquiry. I'd be happy to take a look at this for you.

Your Heat Pump system appears to be Nest-compatible. You might have had it configured differently during the setup, which is why it turns out to be in reverse. To be sure, could you please share your Nest Thermostat's current wiring setup?

I'll look forward to your response.

Regards,
Mark
