Nest Thermostat

My app won’t connect to the thermostat to allow me to control it from the app. I have Bluetooth on. I am standing right by it. Just keeps saying unable to connect try again. It was connected to an old email but it was a work email and I no longer work there. So I made a new email but now won’t connect. Any suggestions?

Thanks for reaching out here in the Google Nest Community.

 

I'd like to check a couple of things for us to further isolate the issue. Since you have a new email, it would help to perform a complete reset on your Nest Thermostat and then complete the set up using the Google Home app.

Hey Jswolfe,


I am sorry to hear you are still having trouble connecting the device to the app. Do you mind me asking if you can log in to the old account, and change the email address there? Here is an article with more details on how to do that. If you aren’t able to change your email address, you’ll have to reset your Nest products and then set them up again in the new account.

No it did not work. Tried that multiple times
