Nest Thermostat

We have a Nest thermostat for a couple of years.  In the 2 months the thermostat is always set at 69 cooling mode.  it will change to 69 heating for no reason.  I have called into you all for help.  We have reset it, looked for schedules and anything else that could be done to fix the issue.  My HVAC was new as of July 2021 and I just had the summer maintenance done.  He checked everything. He went through my nest settings and there is no schedule and once again reset and went through all the steps that Google had us do.  The problem continues daily, and it is wasting time and energy.  What can we do to finally fix this issue?

Hi Shannon,

Thanks for reaching out. I appreciate all the troubleshooting steps you've taken. A few questions: what type of Nest Thermostat do you have? You can visit this link to check what type of thermostat you have. Do you see any messages or codes on your thermostat or in the app? Please gather your thermostat power readout.

You can follow these guides:

Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Thermostat E:

  1. Go to your thermostat Quick View menu.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Look for Technical Info.
  4. Select Power.

Nest Thermostat 2020:

  1. open the Google Home app and then tap the thermostat and then tap Settings .
  2. Select the Device Information.
  3. Choose Technical Information.

Also, please check your thermostat Energy History. It might help you see what your thermostat was doing previously. You can visit this support article on how to check Energy History in the thermostat or in the Nest app.

Best,

Jenelyn
