Nest Thermostat

Our 3rd gen thermostat previously worked fine. The nest unit now has a black screen and flashes green light, and has done for a couple of days. When I try to restart, after 10 seconds, it flashes orange once and then goes back to flashing green. I have removed from the unit and power is plugged directly into the Nest, so not a power issue. 

Any solutions would be great please!

I see you're having trouble with your Nest Learning Thermostat (3rd gen) which is showing a black screen and flashing a green light, a concern that has been ongoing for a couple of days now. Also, you noted that when you tried to restart the device for about 10 seconds, it flashed orange once and then immediately went back to flashing green. To assist you better, please answer the following questions:

  • Do you still have your previous thermostat with you?
  • Are all the breakers switched on?
  • Have you tried plugging the thermostat into a working outlet?
  • Does the display stay black after interacting with it?
