Last night my father noticed his heat wasn’t coming on. He found his new(ish) Nest thermostat (installed roughly a month ago) sitting on a screen with the message, “Save More at Home” w/ a “Next” button. The physical thermostat was completely unresponsive to any touch to the face or sides. The iOS app would allow him to update settings but it has no effect on the thermostat. We ultimately had to kill the breaker power and turn it back on to reestablish connectivity. This is very concerning behavior for a new device (especially for a senior) and was hoping to get some sort of input from support.
ANCILLARY NOTE: This sounds identical to the problem referenced in recent thread (closed w/o conclusion😞 https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Nest-Thermostats/My-nest-says-save-more-at-home-but-won-t-let...

Tap the right side of the nest thermostat instead of sliding your finger. Then it should dismiss the message and you should be able to control it.
