Nest app freezes up

Unable to add thermostat to nest app

Nest app stops working and freezes up when the question is ask “where did you put this thermostat. It just stop working. I deleted the app and did a re install; it still freezes. I am using an iphone. I also replaced the thermostat. I did have a new AC unit installed and the tech could not get app to work either. After 30 min we had to do a rest. Still nothing. Did this several time.

Me too. Still struggling and can control temperature manually????

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry for the trouble this has caused you. Please try to set it up again, and once the Nest app freezes up, wait for at least 5 minutes on the page to go through.

the last time I tried, I had to reset and I waited for 30 min

@tljames67, I’m sorry to hear you're still having issues. We’ll check this out.

There are a couple of reasons why the app suddenly does not respond. If there are too many apps running at the same time, the app version is not updated, the phone's iOS is not updated, or sometimes it is due to a poor internet connection. What model of iPhone are you currently using? Is iOS updated?

 

If your iOS is updated, you might want to try reinstalling the Nest app to make sure it's up-to-date as well.
