Nest (gen3) no longer connected to boiler…..

Randomly it seems our nest has stopped working with our heating system, hot water connection still works fine, we just can’t control/turn on/off our heating with the thermostat or app, (3rd gen nest)

our boiler still kicks in (obviously at random times) and we can’t turn it on, off up or down….if we want the heating on we have to press the emergency button on the boiler, that heats up the radiators but for small amounts of time,

im kinda wishing we had the “old style” thermostat where you just manually turn it on and off now!

we’ve enquired about an engineer but can’t get out until jan 10th!!! Any help would be appreciated!

I’ve tried a reset (not factory reset tho!) I’ve held down the nest to reconnect it to the part connected to the boiler…….no joy! (I’ve done this once, not sure if I should try again?!)

*stessed homeowner willing to throw it out and install a standard thermostat!!!*

Hi @DibC, thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue, but we'll sort this out together. Let's start with a few questions:

Are there any lights on the Heat Link? Does the boiler activate when calling for heat by pressing the Heat Link's button to activate Manual Mode?
Are you seeing any wiring report or error on the thermostat and/or the app?
Have you had any recent power cuts in your area? If yes, has the power been restored?
Have you recently had service or maintenance on your electrical, plumbing, or heating system?
Have you tried any troubleshooting steps before contacting us?
How many thermostats do you have?
