Nest gen3 shows E79 even though 24V coming through C wire

Nest Thermostat now showing an E79 error code even though multimeter shows 24V coming through the C wire. Addtionally the app says last contact was 16 days ago even though I've been changing the temperature since then successfully.

When you used your digital or analog multimeter, what was the exact voltage that was being reported by the multi meter?
