Green blinking light issue

Hello Kevinpdx010703,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Nest Community Forum.

If the thermostat LED blinks green, it means that it's in the boot-up process. To better understand what's going on, what type of Nest Thermostat do you have? Does the display stay blank after interacting with it? If the thermostat continues to flash a green light and remains unresponsive for more than 5 minutes, give these steps a try:

  1. Remove and reconnect the display.
  2. If the issue persists, press and hold down the thermostat ring for 10 seconds to restart it.
    1. If the issue persists, verify that the thermostat mounts (it can be detected by a computer if it’s connected via a micro-USB cable).
  3. If the Nest drive doesn’t mount, restart the thermostat and the computer.
    1. If the Nest drive still doesn’t mount, connect another USB device to the computer via the cable to check if it detects and/or installs the USB device.
  4. If the computer doesn’t detect the USB device, use a different USB cable, USB port, or computer.
    1. If the computer detects the USB device, manually eject the USB device and then replug the display into the computer.

Keep us posted.

Regards,
Mark

Hey there,

I'm checking back in. Were you able to do the steps above? I'd be glad to hear from you — I'd like to make sure everything is working.

Thanks,

Mark
