Nest has stopped turning heating off

Hi,

I have had the nest system for four years. It operated absolutely fine, however in the last two months it has intermittently stopped switching the heating off. I reset it and it started working, taking more and more resets. Now however even when I reset it, it continues to heat the house even when it is beyond the temperature or the thermostat is switched to off.

Hi @Mikemont17,

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that your Nest Thermostat is not switching the heating off. I'm happy to help.

I'll need some information to figure out the cause. Please provide the information requested below:

  • What is your country of residence?
  • What type of Nest thermostat do you have?
  • When did the issue start?
  • What other strange symptoms have you experienced since the problem started?
  • Are there any error messages? If so, what are they exactly?
  • What kind of HVAC system do you have? (Heat pump, conventional system, etc.)
  • Do you notice any intervals or specific patterns between these strange behaviors?
  • When was the last maintenance check for your HVAC system?
  • Has there been any recent changes or upgrades to your HVAC system?
  • Have you checked the power readouts on the Nest thermostat?
  • Do you have a common ground wire or C wire?
  • Have you experienced any power outages within the last few days or weeks?

Please keep me posted. I'll be waiting for your response.

Regards,

Anders
