Hi crober9,

Thanks for posting. I'm sorry to hear about the situation that you are experiencing with the Nest Thermostat. I understand your thermostat is just going for heat. But don't worry, I can help. I just need to ask what type of Nest Thermostat do you have?

For this case, If your system is blowing cool air when in Heat mode or warm air in Cool mode, we might need to adjust the heat pump settings. Here's how:

For the Nest Thermostat

  1. Open the Home app.
  2. Tap your thermostat.
  3. At the top right, tap Settings.
  4. Select Thermostat.
  5. Scroll until you find Heat pump. It should show which wire configuration is currently selected.
    • If the O option is highlighted, select B.
    • If the B option is highlighted, select O.

For the Nest Learning Thermostat and Thermostat E

  1. On your thermostat, go to Settings.
  2. Select Equipment.
  3. Select Continue > Continue.
  4. Select Heat Pump.
  5. The Nest Thermostat defaults to an O setting for heat pumps.
    • If the O option is highlighted, select B.
    • If the B option is highlighted, select O.
  6. To make sure the issue is resolved, test your heating and cooling again.

You can check for detailed information in the "Troubleshoot heat pump issues" article.

Please let me know if you have more questions.

Best regards,

Jenny
