Nest is requesting Y1 or W1 wire for standalone dehumidifier... Thoughts?

I recently bought an Ultra-Aire 120 dehumidifier and wanted to wire it up to an extra 3rd Gen Nest Thermostat I had. I wired it up as follows, but going into Pro mode the Nest highlights the W1 & Y1 connectors on screen in red. Am I missing something?

COM -> C

24V -> Rh

DEHU -> \*

You want to use the Nest Learning Thermostat to only control the dehumidifier and nothing else?

I don't believe that is possible

Hi folks,

@Patrick_Caezza, thanks for the help!

@Aston01, how's it going with your Nest Thermostat? Still need our help?

Thanks,

Edward

I put a short dummy wire on the Y1 terminal that wasn't connected to anything else and I was able to get it working.

Oddly though it doesn't turn off when the humidity & cooling levels are satisfied, but I can manually turn it off on the thermostat so apparently, there is something still not quite right.

If you have any suggestions I am open to hearing them.

Hi Aston01,

Thanks for the response and sharing the workaround that you've done to get your Nest Thermostat running. Could you share the difference between the humidity level that you've set and the actual humidity? Nest will maintain a six percent humidity range of one percent below and five percent above the set humidity level.

Thanks,

Edward
