Nest offline. Says it has power/wiring issues

Our Nest thermostat stopped working yesterday. Initially the screen went blank/the device went offline and there was a flashing red LED. We disconnected the device to charge it via USB and reconnected it when the screen indicated that it should be put back on its base. When it was placed back on its base it indicated an error and a problem with the power and shut itself down. We have tried to recharge several times with USB and we keep having problems when reconnecting the unit to the base.  The error message is not always the same. Sometimes it says that there is a wiring problem.  There has been no change to the wiring set up and it has been working fine for over a year. We have checked the fuse box and any obvious signs of a power problem.

We are having exact same issue. Same time frame as well 🤔. Recent software bug perhaps?

I'm experiencing the same symptoms. Trying to identify the root cause of the issue and it seems the Heat Link is off.

I've been chatting with Google support and they're sending a replacement to be fitted. Appears the heat link device has died and still in warranty

Hi @AB . Sorry for the late reply.

If you have not already check the Heat Link and see if it has power. As @Junipah mentioned it could be the Heat Link that is not providing power to the display.
