Nest previously working, now wires undetected

Ivanrubalcava08

Our Nest thermostat has been working amazingly for almost a year, however, recently it has started to show the the E298 (No Power) error code.

Upon going to settings, batteries show good, but Equipment shows "wire info" -> undetected wires Y-W-G-R.

This is strange since it has worked this whole time.

HVAC system just had the drain line and condenser coils cleaned.

Does anyone know how ro fix?

Hi Ivanrubalcava08,

Thanks for reaching out to us, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation. Let's sort this out.

The E298 code on your Nest Thermostat 2020 means no power to R. To identify the cause of this matter, answer these few questions: Are the power breakers on or flipped? When was the thermostat installed? Who installed the thermostat? Also, gather the power readouts from the thermostat under Settings > Equipment > Power Info (VIN, IIN, PS-*).

I'll look forward to your response.

Best,

Zoe
