Nest reached system targeted temp 20C, but the fun keeps running, won't stop by itself even 25C now

Nest reached system targeted temp 20C, but the fun keeps running, blows hot air. The room temp already reached to 25C, I have to manually turn the fun off, however it is the same situation when system calls the heating.

Hi Frankli,,

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your inquiry. I'd love to know more about this.

To isolate:

  • Is this a first-time installation?
  • Could you please share with us a photo of your thermostat's wiring?
  • What type of HVAC system do you have?
  • Does your system still run even when the display is off its base?
  • Check its power readouts in the Technical Info settings for the Nest Learning Thermostat or the Nest Thermostat E and Equipment settings for the Nest Thermostat 2020.

I'll look forward to your response.

Best,

Mark

Hi Mark,

Thank you for your reply.

Yes, this is my first time installing but 4 months ago. This problem took place when I installed it, and the reason why I kept using it is because I thought the Nest 3rd has a function-auto learning, it might improve by itself after a while.

However the issue existed after 4 months. During the night time, the temp goes up very high, like 25C as the fun stays running. This became a nightmare for my family as I had to wake up and go downstairs, trying to disable the fun. You are right, the system still runs even when the display is off its base.

My Nest is the 3rd generation, I bought it 4 months ago.

I have a C-Wire and follow the instructions of the wiring like the picture attached.
I can not take the real pictures right now because I already took it off and replaced my old one instead.  My old one is a very basic Sears thermostat, but it works.
My HVAC system looks like:
One gas heating furnace/one outside air conditioner and the fun with forced air.

Let me know if you need more info.

Thank you for your help.

Hi there,

Thank you for this, Frank. Big help!

Could you also help me check your thermostat's power readings? You can find this in your actual thermostat's Technical Info settings.

Keep me posted.

Best,

Mark

Hi Jenelyn,

Thank you for your following up.

Unfortunately, I already returned my Nest Thermostats back to the store, and replaced my old one back instead. The fun keeps running all day long, so I can not wait.

Again, thank you for your support.
