Have had sensors connected to various thermostats for the last year. Getting ready to go to heating season and noticed that one sensor was disconnected. Spent an inordinate amount of time trying to get it to reconnect to the thermostat. Finally swapped out a different sensor to see if it was a thermostat issue. Newly placed sensor works just fine. Trying linking the other non working sensor to another thermostat and while it shows as linked the temperature reading is 32. There is no way that’s correct as it’s in the same room as the thermostat and should be 70. When I try to check the connection to the thermostat it thinks and thinks and thinks and finally says connected failed. I’m thinking the sensor is bad but don’t know what else to do to troubleshoot.

Please give these steps a try:
Keep me posted on how it goes.
Thanks,
