Nest stuck on home icon with blinking light

Hello,

My Nest has just randomly stopped working and the thermostat is stuck on a white home icon with a flashing light at the top. There have been no connectivity or wifi issues in my home. 
I have tried all of the following but nothing has worked:

-changed plug sockets and plugs

-changed USB cables

-held it down until it turns off but when I turn it back on again

-removed all wires until the battery dies, as soon as I plug it in, the home icon reappears

-plugged it into my laptop but nothing pops up

I can’t even factory reset it because it doesn’t matter how long I hold it down for, that home icon just keeps coming back on!

The nest is still under warranty and I purchased it from Amazon. Please can someone help before I ditch the whole system and buy a hive. This Nest has just had constant issues and there’s no way to get in touch with Google because it just says ‘contact us in hours of support’ yet I always am!

Same issue mine happened today. Hope they fix it overnight. Mine blinks orange and green and keeps going to the home screen.

Mine has been like this for 2 days now and nothing is happening and I’ve tried everything. Can’t find a solution online only thing I’ve seen is ‘send it back’ not helpful!

It looks like you've already tried most of the troubleshooting steps. Thank you again for all your efforts trying to solve this concern. Let's try the following troubleshooting steps to try the factory reset another way:

• Remove the display from the base plate.
• Charge it with a micro USB cable.
• While charging the thermostat, press and hold it down for 10 seconds.

After following these steps, please let me know if that works.
