My thermostat suddenly stopped connecting to WiFi, it shows offline on the app and the thermostat settings show that it can’t connect to client network. I see that the latest software update is 6.4-5. I tried to restart it, restart to factory settings, restart the router and it doesn’t work. Is there any solution?

Same issue following a firmware update on August 1st.
Nest will no longer connect to my Tp Link Deco Wifi. But will connect to an old Wifi access point that I dug out to test with.

It won’t connect to my phone hotspot, it doesn’t even recognise any available WiFi.

I found that the only fix for this to have a seperate or dedicated 2.4ghz wifi band with WPA2. Do not set up the band using any other frequencies, ONLY 2.4ghz.
Clearly, firmware 6.4-5 has really effed things up, as even after fixing the wifi connection on mine, it can no longer wirelessly connect to my heatlink.
If thermostats can no longer connect to wifi, then a lot of people are going to have issues recieving firmware that fix bugs (assuming Google actually bothers!)

Hi there!
Thank you for contacting the community! I understand the issues you've been experiencing with your Nest Learning Thermostat (3rd gen). It sounds like after the latest update, Version 6.4-5 released on July 14th, the thermostat has either stopped connecting to Wi-Fi or will only connect to a mobile hotspot. I appreciate that you've already taken several troubleshooting steps, including resetting the thermostat, performing a factory reset, resetting your router, and using only the 2.4 GHz band.
Based on the issue with your thermostat, I would like to provide you with a link to the Contact Us page where you can get in touch with the appropriate support team.
On the "Resources" page, just click on "Next step" without selecting any of the help topics. This will take you to a page with contact choices (chat or phone).
Keep me posted.
Best regards,
Eduardo
