Nest thermostat and or heat link issues

We’ve been having trouble with our thermostat for a few months.  The thermostat seems to have a mind of it’s own and adjusts itself downwards so impossible to set the temperature or even turn the heating on at all sometimes.  The temperature it shows for the room also doesn’t seem to be accurate and always looks higher than it is.  The app is no longer showing our usage.  Occasionally we receive error H71.  We’re considering switching to Hive or something else as it seems impossible to get any remote assistance from Google to try and resolve our issues.  Very frustrating now we’re heading into winter.
