Hi @Zorba,

Thank you for contacting the community! I understand the issue you've been experiencing with your Nest Learning Thermostat (3rd gen) not connecting to your iPhone. I appreciate you confirming that your wife isn't experiencing this issue despite using the same settings, as well as your effort in removing the app. Don’t worry, I’m here to help!

I know how frustrating it is that this issue is appearing now, especially since you haven't experienced it before. In light of this, I'd like to ask a few questions:

  • What specific error message do you see?
  • How far away is the thermostat from the router?
  • Are there devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near the device you want to use?
  • Is your iPhone currently connected to the exact same Wi-Fi network as your wife’s phone and the thermostat?
  • When you log in, do you see the name of your home at the top, or is the screen blank/asking to set up a new device?
  • Which iPhone model are you using, and is it currently running iOS 19.4?

Please feel free to share any additional details you think might be relevant.

Best regards,
Eduardo

Hi Eduaro

Thank you for reaching out to me, from what you’re asking me!
No error message.
Thermostat from router 4 meters.
No baby monitors, microwave is about 10 meters away, no cordless phones, WI-Fi network same as my wife’s phone and thermostat. I’m using a iPhone 13 Pro. Currently running on iOS 26-.
When I open the nest app is show’s my address,

When I try to add product it says scan the code, it then asks me to scan the entry key, which isn’t there. I tried to log in on the nest app, and also tried to login through google, no luck. Hopefully this gives you enough information to help me.

Hi @Zorba,

Thank you for keeping me updated on the information I requested. Regarding that, I would like to verify some details about your Nest account:

  • Did you set up the thermostat on your account and share it with your wife, or did she set it up and share it with you?
  • In the Nest app, you can have up to five home structures. I would like to confirm if you have more than one; to check, tap the three lines in the top-left corner and select another home if it is listed.
  • Since some users have several email addresses, I recommend signing in with a different email if you have more than one.

Keep me posted.

Best regards,
Eduardo

I’m not sure where/who is piriguete doce louca, although the photo is mine, and I’ve recently changed the photo, I’ve tried to sign in with different account e.g. hotmail and google with no success.

Hi @Zorba,

Thank you very much for the photograph and the information regarding how the thermostat was originally set up. At this point, I would like to verify one more thing. In the photo, there is a phrase that says, "Looking for a home from the Google Home app? Tap the + icon." Usually, if you have more than one Home Structure, the others will appear right below that phrase. Please check if you have other Home Structures listed there; if so, could you see if the thermostat is located within one of them.

Keep me posted.

Best regards,
Eduardo

Hi @Zorba,

Thank you very much for keeping me informed of your experience. Based on the first image, you have a Home Structure named "Boiler," and the second photo shows your thermostat within the Google Home app. Therefore, I would like to ask a few questions to confirm some details:

  • Are you using the same email address in both the Google Home app and the Nest app? If not, please sign out of the account currently logged into the Nest app. Afterward, on the app's main page, select "Sign in with Google" and choose the same email address you use in the Google Home app.
  • Can you properly control your thermostat in the Google Home app?

Keep me posted.

Best regards,
Eduardo

Hi @Zorba,

Thank you very much for the follow-up! I understand the situation regarding your ability to control the thermostat in the Google Home app. Despite that, since you have received three emails, I would like to confirm some details to proceed:

  • When you mentioned, "I’ve tried to delete and reset but no success," did you do this on the Nest Learning Thermostat or directly within the app?
  • As I mentioned previously, please check if you are using the same email in the Google Home app as in the Nest app. If not, please log in to the Nest app by selecting "Sign in with Google" and choosing the same email address you use in the Google Home app.

Keep me posted.

Best regards,
Eduardo
