Thermostat worked for 2 or 3 months, then went offline, would not reconnect. Was replaced under warranty. Replacement connected, worked for an hour and went offline. It does not see networks. I have done troubleshooting steps without success, now have wifi error nest.com/w5.
I do not know what to try next

I have just spoken with Google Nest customer care.
The nest.com/W5 error code indicates a WiFi chip error. It would be nice if the troubleshooting guide explained that, it would have avoided wasting some of my time. The agent started the process for a warranty replacement, I chose the "Advanced Exchange" so I will get the replacement without waiting for the old unit to be returned first.
My unit is a 3d Generation Learning Thermostat.
