Nest thermostat doesn’t match up with carrier wires

I recently purchased the 3rd generation nest learning thermostat, but have two red wires, one white, and one black. None of the labels for these wires match anything in the nest app for set up. Does anyone know what should go where?

Hi Lwetzel,

Thanks for posting here in the Community forum, and for your interest with our Nest Thermostat.

I see that your current thermostat has the non-standard labels V+ and Vg, which means that your system is proprietary. Proprietary systems aren’t compatible with Google Nest Thermostats. However, some proprietary systems can be rewired by a pro installer to be compatible.

Let us know if you have any other questions. We're happy to help.

Best,

Zoe.
