Nest thermostat e only in Google Home /not connecting to Nest App

My best thermostat e only connects to google home, not nest, where my other nest thermostats are.  Note, everything is in google home, but the app is worse.  I have removed the thermostat from my account but it only pushes me to use google home.

Is it an issue with me or should it connect to the nest app like the other thermostats?

I have the same issue, but of course the forum locks quickly so having to start another new one.
