Nest thermostat e79, but multimeter showing 26 V between Rh and C wires

E79 code on nest learning thermostat.  Have 24V between red and common.  I see the pins on the back of the thermostat at not all flush (same distance from base) on one row.  I think that is the problem.

Hey there k77027,

Sorry to hear about the error message you're receiving, I understand these things can be confusing, but I'm happy to see how I can help.

E79 error means that your Nest thermostat is physically detecting a wire in the C(common) connector but isn't detecting any power to it.

We suggest following the steps suggested on this widget to resolve your issue.

Let us know how it goes.

Best regards,

Garrett DS
