Nest thermostat error E298

My new nest Thermostat works normal until 8pm ever night I get the Big ERROR power out with E298 code.  Then after 10pm it goes back to normal.  On weekends I have no problems.  It only happens Monday - Friday.  We changed batteries. We checked the wiring and had an electrician check the wiring.  Nothing.  Help not sure what to do.

Thanks for posting here in the Community forum, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation. Please answer the following so I can take a look at this for you.

 

  1. What type of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system do you have?
  2. What troubleshooting steps have you done before reaching out Support?
  3. Are the power breakers on or flipped?
  4. When was the thermostat installed?
  5. Who installed the thermostat?

 

Also, gather the power readings of your Nest Thermostat 2020 by going to its Settings > Equipment > Power Info (VIN, IIN, PS-*).
