Hi, I have a Mitsubishi ecodan heat pump. The thermostats are currently poly pipe but I’d like to upgrade to a nest thermostat. I thought this would be quite simple but i’m struggling to identify whether it is compatible. The current thermostat has a black and brown wire but with no letter labelling. These connect to a small plug which connects to the back of the thermostat. I’m trying to work out i) whether this is compatible ii) which letters in the nest thermostat I should connect the black and brown wire to. Any advice much appreciated.

Hello Jim66,

Thank you for taking the time in letting us know about your inquiry. I'd be happy to take a look into this for you.

To determine your systems' compatibility with the Nest. Do you mind me asking the make and model of your HVAC system? Also, please send us a picture of your system's control panel, where the wires from your current thermostat are connected. This is to see how they are being labeled.

I'll look forward for your response.

Best regards,

Mark
