Nest thermostat going up to 89 out of the blue when temperature is set for 50?

Two days ago out of the blue I went up stairs and noticed it was so hot(, and it’s summer time) so I check on the thermostat and it read 89. So I shut it off and had to start my ac up cause to was hot. My thermostat has always be at 50… Next day once again I go up stairs and once again it went back on and when to 89 again… what is going on…

Now after reading that this has happened to others I might want to buy a different brand..

it’s costing money and why when you shut it off is it coming back on… these thermostat are not cheap.

That happened to me once and I figured out that for some reason when I had changed something on my Nest app, it reactivated an old schedule. Check to see if your thermostat is following a schedule of temperatures of any sort during the day.

Hello everyone,

I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble with this. No worries, we'll check this out. Just to check: Is your Autoschedule turned on? If so, Check out this link on how to Disable learning for the temperature schedule

Let me know if that helps,

Best,
Edmond
