Been using the thermostat for 2 years and this is first time I see red blinking light on the thermostat. So I looked up some online discussions and it said to press for 30 seconds the home button and then plug out and charge using a usb mini cable. Aftert the 30 seconds home button reset there was no blinking but the thermostat was still off. So I took it out from wall and plugged to a mini usb charger. It’s been charging for 10 minutes and I donot see any message/ response on the thermostat. The model is nest thermostat E Nest pro edition A0063

please help as this is winter tjme

Hello Riz1,

We appreciate you reaching out and sharing your experience with the Nest Thermostat E. I understand the urgency, especially during the winter season. I'd be happy to take a look at this for you.

Firstly, thanks for your efforts in attempting to resolve the issue. Considering that the thermostat is still unresponsive even after charging for 10 minutes, we recommend a few additional steps:

  1. Double-check that the USB charger and cable are working correctly. Try using an alternative charger or USB cable to eliminate potential issues with the power source. Charge it for an hour before plugging it into its base.
  2. Inspect the thermostat base and make sure that all wires are properly connected and the tabs are pushed down.
  3. Check that the HVAC system at the breaker box is turned on.

Also, here is an article to troubleshoot when your thermostat won't turn on that covers the steps above.

Let me know how it goes.

Warm regards,
Mark
