It says when you pull up History: "Come back tomorrow to see what your thermostat has been up to"
It has been showing this same message for several days now.
ALL other functions are working and showing OK.

I’m having the same issue, the only thing I can think of is Google killing off our thermostats.
07-18-2025 10:31 AM
Not showing any thermostat history on computer browser or on iphone when app is pulled up.
Guess it is time to purchase a different brand of thermostats? Not happy with Google/Nest!

Same issue here.

Ditto. Just discovered that although it was only installed two years ago, my themostat is a 1st gen, so I assume this is it's dying gasps. Wish they'd offer a discount on the entry level model to replace it. The offer for gen4 is still more expensive than a brand new entry level model.

Also having this problem with the nest app for the past week or so ...

Just a heads up,
Had a quick chat session with Laoise Eliza - Senior technical support this morning regarding our concerns. Good news; the engineering team is fully aware of the issue and are actively pursuing a resolution. Bad news; we may not have any past performance information, and NO ONE HAS RESPONDED TO OUR POSTS HERE! Here is an excerpt from our chat:
10:56:22 AM Laoise Eliza - Senior Technical Support: Yes, our engineering teams are aware of the problem and are actively investigating the root cause with the highest priority.
10:56:46 AM Laoise Eliza - Senior Technical Support: We will send you out an email as soon as we have an update regarding this.
10:58:37 AM Onboard: PERFECT!! I will spread the word with other blogs and posts regarding this. Some of us customers are getting frustrated and concerned. This will help tremendously. Perhaps your marketing or business team should send an email or contact somehow regarding. People LOVE to be seen and heard, even if there isn't an immediate resolution.

I'm still experiencing the same issue. Apparently the "highest priority" isn't high enough.

IT IS A GOOGLE NEST ISSUE ON THEIR END!!! They provided no ETA on repair.
Had a Chat with Google support a few minutes ago and got this response to the issue:
-> "It appears that your application has been affected by a recently identified issue. However, rest assured that our engineering team is actively working to resolve this issue. Once the issue has been resolved, we will send an update via email.

Seriously—enough is enough.
I’m actively de-Googling my life.
Last month? Swapped my Android for an iPhone.
Just now? Ditched the Nest thermostat for a Honeywell Home RTH9585WF.
No more Google searches, either.
I use ChatGPT and DuckDuckGo to get real answers—without all the tracking and manipulation.
Google had its chance. I’m not coming back.

Welp. Glad to see I'm not the only one and that they're hopefully working on it. Shame that we probably won't recover the history activity for the lost period. I really needed to know just how much more my system is working during the heat wave that just hit so I know if I need to adjust settings.

Hi,
My Nest Learning Thermostat (3rd gen) used to display energy history, but for the past few days, it only shows the message:
“Welcome to Energy History. Come back tomorrow to see what your thermostat has been up to.”
So far, I’ve tried the following steps, but none have resolved the issue:
1. Uninstalled the Nest app, restarted my iPhone, and reinstalled the app.
2. Restarted the thermostat.
Unfortunately, the energy history still isn’t showing. Could someone please help?
Thanks in advance!

Same problem with the second generation thermostat. It used to work perfectly and then some days ago it shows the same thing as yours.
i have a new 4rh generation but it does not show the outside temp so I'm holding off on installing it.
07-22-2025 05:16 AM
Glad to know I’m not the only one! Hopefully someone can help us both out.
07-22-2025 06:42 AM
I found earlier posts from Google's Artificial Incompetence bots saying the problem started on July 12th and their team of incompetent bots are actively working on the problem.
Right.
Because it would only take a human maybe ten hours instead of 10+ days to figure out and repair a problem affecting thousands of people. Because many people are reporting they can no longer control their Gen 3 and Gen 4 thermostats via the Google Home app either.
But guess what, our good old Gen 2 thermostats still work fine using the good old Nest app. That must be why they're being discontinued.
I think it's getting near the time to dump the Google Home environment entirely. It's clear to me that Google has no interest in this line of products so we're all just throwing bad money after good. I've been thinking that for over a year and it's become even more obvious recently.
It sucks since I installed my first device in January 2015 and built up since then but all good things seem to get trashed by what Google has become, a company no longer focused on people.
07-23-2025 07:01 AM
I saw a post last night from a bot saying the problem was fixed but all previous history from the outage may be lost.
So I waited until this morning to see if my energy history was back.
Nope. Maybe tomorrow.

I am in the same boat as you....nothing is showing.
07-21-2025 03:49 AM
This is in 2 different self catering houses across 3 nest devices, definitely not a WiFi issue. Really frustrating as I can't monitor guest usage and adjust if necessary
Help!
07-22-2025 05:53 AM
It has been couple days I can't see history data of my nest thermostat. Could you take a look?
07-24-2025 02:23 AM
Same issue for me in the UK
07-25-2025 02:48 AM
I’m having the same problem. This has gone on for sometime. London, UK.
07-22-2025 12:22 PM
Energy History not Showing...it keeps saying to come back tomorrow to check with updated history and it doesn't show any history when I check back the next day.

Had the same issue here with Gen 1. When I accessed history from the device I could see hours of use, however, upon drilling into the day, it showed incomplete data for the entire day. This was also true for all history prior. Upon restarting the device, however, it has now started showing drill-down data, so I'm feeling confident that after a full day of complete data, it will once again begin reporting to the app. Fingers crossed and hope this helps you.

Thanks for the response ….. unfortunately this has been going on for several days not sure if it has been a full week but it’s getting there.
07-22-2025 06:20 PM
I've had the same problem as well. The first restart didn't help (about a week ago), but I did it yesterday and now it's starting to register detail.
07-26-2025 11:11 AM
I've tried restarting several times over several days with no luck. Been going on for well over a week now.
07-22-2025 06:32 PM
Well the weird thing is that wall thermost the history will show up but not on my app
07-22-2025 07:53 PM
In the history, when you're on a day and it says how many hours the system ran, what happens if you click into the day?
Also, have you tried restarting the thermostat?
07-25-2025 08:49 AM
When I click on the day with historical data it shows the time and intervals that the AC was on....so its certainly collecting data. I am going to try to restart my thermostat but it's the app that is not showing the history....no idea what is going. I wonder if it is the internet...like should I be on the same internet source i have two internet sources from the same provider....wonder if that is it.
07-25-2025 09:13 AM
Nope. I have my thermostat and phone on the same wifi (small apartment so only one router, Google Fiber no less) when I'm home and it makes no difference.
07-25-2025 09:15 AM
Ok so I restarted the thermostat again...I reset the internet connection...reconnected....
and still nothing! What is going on here......
07-25-2025 09:15 AM
Yes mine says the same thing.
07-26-2025 08:25 AM
Still not working for me either. Sounds like Google is aware of the issue, so now we......wait. With this whole debacle of making us change thermostats, I'm considering moving away from Google completely. They haven't handled the situation well and there's no reason to take functionality away from older models.
07-26-2025 11:08 AM
I've been having the same issue for over a week. Tried deleting app and reinstalling several times. Works on the thermostat. But will not do me any good while travelling.
07-23-2025 11:29 PM
Hi all,
Not seeing any usage available in the app. The schedule is running and I can control the heating ok via the app. Just not seeing any usage activity, say to come back tomorrow but I have the heating on yesterday and no data presented. This was previously working and just showed the date and no usage.
Is anyone having the same problem now or had it before ?
07-24-2025 08:40 AM
Same problem, it's been broken for a number of days.
07-24-2025 10:50 PM
I am also having the issue. Does it have to do with the phase out of older nest thermostats? I think I have a gen 2.
07-25-2025 01:59 AM
Me too.
07-25-2025 03:52 AM
A bit more dialogue on the below
