Nest thermostat not working

Hi,

my Nest thermostat has gone blank - it has a red light blinking which occasionally turns Green, then briefly amber then red again.  I get the house icon on a black screen then it says ‘the thermostat is restarting back in a bit’ then it goes blank again and doesn’t start up??

Do you have a C wire connected?

How old is the Nest?

Sounds like battery is not charging which can be due to no C wire or loose connections on R or C wires.

You can take Nest off the base and charge it with a phone charger with a usb cable and see if it starts working again.

@Stu5, I'm sorry to hear about the issue that you're having on your Nest Thermostat that won't hold the charge but I'm happy to help. 

Just a few things to clarify:

• How's your Nest Thermostat, is it still not turning on?
• Are you getting any message codes or reports?
• Were you able to do the steps provided?
