Nest thermostat self adjusting during peak hours

Fritz1
Community Member

Why is my nest thermostat showing a green leaf and self adjusting by a degree during peak hours? I have cancelled my nest renew account for im using propane to heat my home rather than electricity, therefore that program didn't benefit\suffice for me. I do not want my thermostat self adjusting during peak hours so what else do I need to do to remove this self adjusting during peak hours setting?  I don't want to see the leaf.

Hello Fritz1,

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your inquiry. I'd be happy to take a look at this for you.

You might have been enrolled in a Rush Hour program with your utility company. To save energy and cut grid costs, your Nest Thermostat will automatically adjust temperatures during rush hour. If you want to cancel this, please contact your energy company to unenroll your account.

Feel free to let us know if you have more questions.

Regards,

Mark

Can't be my utility company unless they are pumping propane into my furnace. I don't have electricity. I order my own fuel and stored in outdoor propane tanks.

Hi there,

Got it. Let's sort this out.

Could you tell us the Nest Thermostat model you have? Also, how often do the leaf icon and temperature change?

I'll look forward to your response.

Mark

The temp changes during peak hours as I mentioned.  Those hours are not set by me, and I would assume that is something set by Google?  I have noticed the temperature change is one degree.  If I have it set at 65 then during peak hours it would readjust my setting to 64 with a leaf appearing. This happens randomly during the day.

Hi Fritz1,

I understand. To be sure, do you have scheduled temperatures created? If so, try clearing all the scheduled temperatures to avoid an unexpected change. Also, I found an article about the Nest Leaf. Let me know how it goes.

Thanks,

Mark

I've done that and also factory rest the thermostat and get the same results.  My schedules were the same every day.  Comfort 7 a.m. till 9 p.m. then sleep till 7 a.m. Monday through Sunday.

I don't think the manual your reading from knows anything.
