The ability to hold a temperature is directly available on the Nest Thermostat (4th gen). On the other hand, previous versions of the Nest Learning Thermostat and the Nest Thermostat E, don't have a dedicated 'hold' feature, but you can still achieve a similar effect by disabling certain automatic features, which I can guide you through.

- Do you have a conventional HVAC system (separate furnace and AC unit) or a heat pump system (single unit for heating and cooling)?
