Nest thermostat to Nest app connection.

Nest thermostat connects to Google Home app but not the Nest app.  This is a second thermostat i am trying to add to the Nest app that i installed at our cabin.  The first was install at our primary residence.  It is not one of the learning thermostats.  Just the basic Nest Thermostat.  Everything seems to work fine in the Google Home app for both thermostats.  

I have tried a number of things, adding the device in the Nest app only says I have to add it thru the Google Home app.  I have done that.  So I am stuck.

Just to confirm, what type of Nest thermostat do you have? Is the new Nest Thermostat that has a mirrored display? If yes, I'm afraid this can only be set up and managed through the Google Home app. Check this out to know more information about it: https://bit.ly/3uOLro2
