I had 2 new heatlinks installed yesterday as they suddenly stopped working after 4 years with no issues.
I have one thermostat and linked heatlink to control downatairs and a second thermostat and linked heatlink for upstairs.

PROBLEM - when I turn the downstairs thermostat up now the boiler fires up and my upstairs radiators come on

when I turn my upstairs thermostat up the boiler does not fire up and nothing happens.

help please!

If your newly installed heatlinks are causing issues with your heating system, here's what you can do:

So, don't be demotivated. here we complete guide you.

  1. Check Thermostat and Heatlink Pairing:

    • Ensure each thermostat is correctly paired with its respective heatlink. Verify the settings on each heatlink to control the correct zone (upstairs or downstairs).
  2. Review Wiring:

    • Double-check the wiring connections for both heatlinks. Make sure they match the installation instructions and that there are no loose connections.
  3. Reset and Reconfigure:

    • If the settings seem correct but the problem persists, try resetting both heatlinks and reconfiguring them according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  4. Professional Help:

    • If you continue to experience issues, consider contacting a professional heating technician or the support team of the heatlink manufacturer for further assistance.

By following these steps, you should be able to diagnose and resolve the issues with your heatlinks and ensure your heating system operates correctly for both upstairs and downstairs zones.

They sound as if they are not paired correctly! Looks like you have the Heat links paired to the wrong displays.

Go to your downstairs display and look at........... settings - Technical - Heat Link, then read the 6 digit code shown there, make a note of it.

Next go to the Heat Link that SHOULD be the one for that thermostat, and check the number shown by the fixing screw on the lid. [NOTE: IF the installer has put the correct cover on and not the old cover, the number should match] Should that not match check the other Heat Link.

Do the same for the other thermostat also. let me know here after you check.

Are the thermostats wired or do you have them on a stand?
