Nest thermostat

The thermostat I purchased has failed twice in consecutive years, with each unit exhibiting issues shortly after the warranty period. The first malfunction occurred just days before the one-year mark, prompting me to replace it with another unit, which unfortunately also failed precisely at the one-year threshold. When I reached out for support a few days late, they denied assistance, citing the expiration of the warranty.

I feel compelled to share this experience to warn potential buyers about the reliability of Google’s thermostat products. If you want to avoid being left without heat during the freezing Canadian winters—especially around the holiday season—I strongly advise against choosing these devices. I have retained email correspondence that demonstrates their reluctance to provide support, and it appears they will find reasons to deny any claims for assistance. My goal is to inform others and help ensure that families stay safe and warm during the winter months.
