Hi. I have a nest thermostat that is either 1st or 2nd gen I bought in 2015/16 and I have forgotten my PIN. I am moving and the network at home is no longer active. In a bone-headed move I removed the product from my Nest app thinking that would help reset the product if I added it as a new product. That was a no go! Can someone help to reset this unit to factory default? At this point the unit has been heating our home way beyond necessary and I need to turn the heat down. I looked at the help forum and saw that I was able to access the thermostat as a drive. I understand that there is a file I need to get from Nest Support. I appreciate any help.
