Hello @Tcurtis3232, do you still need our help?

No i have sent it back to google for a replacement .

I will be getting a hive thermostat fitted  .

Will be selling my google nest when it returns its not a good product if they keep going faulty shame really because its a nice product but to have two of these been faulty  is to much.

Hi folks,

@TippyToes, thanks for reaching out, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation. I'm glad that your Nest Thermostat is now being replaced.

@Davidwright71, thanks for letting us know that your Nest Thermostat was already replaced.

I'm going to mark this thread as complete. If you have questions or concerns in the future, feel free to start a new thread, and we'll be happy to help.

Best,

Zoe

Unfortunately the replacement was a dud too

I'd rather you didn't close this thread - as I posted my second replacement was a dud, I'm now being sent a 'pristine' replacement rather than refurbs but other people may benefit from these updates. I have spent a lot of time on the phone/troubleshooting/organising collections and deliveries. There is benefit to sharing this experience.

So, the original thermostat display unit had  a wifi fault at 11 months old. Two replacements were sent out which were refurbished units. They connect to wifi but couldn't actually get online despite extensive troubleshooting. A third replacement was sent, this time a brand new 'whole' box when I pointed out that a number on people online had complained about faulty refurb replacements.

This time it set up instantly. The moral of the story? Demand a brand new replacement as it appears from the posts I have seen that in both the UK and US, and definitely in my case, too many faulty refurbs are being dispatched.

Thanks for sharing your experience @TippyToes . I am sorry to hear you faced these difficulties with your replacement.

All units that are sent out, new or refurbished should work as expected. There does seem to have been a small problem adding replacement units to the Nest app but that seems to have been on our side of the server and has been handled by our engineers. I do appreciate all the input on your experience and I am happy to hear my colleagues were able to assist to get things back on track.

Is there anything else I can perhaps try and assist with at the moment?
